Radiant Barriers

Our Energy"Q" Reflective Thermal Barrier is the most effective Radiant Barrier product on the market, reflecting 97% of the Sun’s Radiant Heat.  When Energy"Q" Radiant Barrier is properly applied, it will increase comfort by reducing Hot and Cold spots throughout your home or business.  Energy"Q" will lower utility costs by reducing Heat Gain/Loss, as well as increase the performance of energy consumption equipment (such as our very expensive A/C units).

Energy"Q" Radiant Barrier can reduce your energy bills 20%-40% year-round.  The typical payback for Energy"Q" Radiant Barrier is 1-2 1/2 years.

Radiant Barriers can qualify for up to a 30% Federal Energy Tax Credit (See IRS Form #5695 and check with your Tax Advisor).

Types of Radiant Barriers

Radiant BarrierRadiant barriers come in a variety of forms, including reflective foil, reflective paint coatings, reflective metal roof shingles, reflective laminated roof sheathing, and even reflective chips, which can be mixed with loose-fill insulation.

We sell and install Energy"Q" Radiant Barrier. This 5-layer Double-Sided Foil BLOCKS at least 97% of the Radiant Heat Transfer.   Energy"Q" is a leader and innovator in the Reflective Insulation Industry and has beenfeatured by NASA and The United Space Alliance in several publications and news releases.  Energy"Q" Radiant Barrier when properly installed “is one product one solution”, there is no need for additional  products to be added.  The performance of the Energy"Q" Radiant Barrier is the same with or  without insulation, being double sided, working in both directions and performing year round with energy savings of up to 20%-40%. Energy"Q" Radiant Barrier is an uncommon insulation providing uncommon results!

Also, radiant barriers—which don't provide a significant amount of thermal insulation—can be combined with many types of insulation materials. These combinations are called reflective insulation systems. In these combinations, radiant barriers can also act as the insulation's facing material.

Installation

Radiant Barrier

Unlike inefficient paints sprayed on the  Under side of the roof, Energy”Q” Radiant Barrier is typically placed on top of the  existing insulation.  This puts the foil as close to the climate controlled living area as possible. Testing has shown that placing a double sided, multilayer, perforated aluminum foil product (such as Energy”Q”) here provides maximum performance.

Paints and other foil products place on the back side of the roof can lower attic temperatures by about 25 degrees.  The problem is that many attics can be 150 degrees or more in the summer.  These high temperatures are absorbed into the insulation and then are (slowly) transferred into the house. By placing the Energy”Q” Radiant Barrier on the floor…we can keep the most Heat out of the insulation allowing you’re  A/C system to do its job most efficiently.

A radiant barrier's effectiveness depends on proper installation. Therefore, it's best to have a certified installer do it.
